First Thursday

7 MAR 2013 - Listed in General Events

First Thursday Fayetteville is a monthly event held on the Downtown Fayetteville Square, celebrating original works of art. The outdoor art walk will return in March for its fourth season. This unique monthly event provides opportunities for artists and downtown merchants to connect and transform the entire downtown area into a cultural arts experience. The event is free and open to the public.

In conjunction with the Ozark Literacy Council, the very popular PIGShibition community art project will be coming to First Thursday. These unique works of art will be displayed on the square and auctioned off on March 14 at the Fayetteville Town Center. The non-profit organization of the month will be the Ozark Literacy Council. The featured band for the month is Full House, a 10-piece band, known for their rock and roll covers from Fort Smith.

Additionally, the Fayetteville Public Library will be providing a different children’s event at each First Thursday beginning at 5:30 p.m., on the main stage located on Mountain Street. “We are very excited to partner with First Thursday and add unique children’s programming to the event,” said Lolly Greenwood, Manager of Youth Services at the Fayetteville Public Library. “We have some really fun acts booked that we think will add to First Thursday’s already lively atmosphere.” March's kid event is Tommy Terrific’s Wacky Magic Show
